Invasive animals cause extensive problems for land managers. Feral pigs, goats, cats and wild dogs all diminish land value and affect productivity. Our team of field officers work to better understand the behaviours of pest species by tracking them with GPS technology.
Feral pigs have been the focus of this work with collaring projects being undertaken regularly for clients who are eager to know the facts around where feral pigs go and what they do seasonally, as well as how they impact the different landscapes where they live.
We are progressing this work to monitor wild dogs and feral cats in the near future.
In addition to monitoring feral species patterns and behaviours, our team of licensed and trained field officers carry out routine coordinated control to remove populations of feral pigs, foxes, wild dogs, cats and goats. This work is undertaken with the highest standards of animal ethics and training.
We are on the front line of innovation trials that aim to change the way land managers deal with pest species on their properties.
Our team have been involved in trials of
HOGGONE
in the USA and have been on the forefront of implementing this control method in Australia.
Boar Buster
traps are also planned for trials in the area in the near future.
